the new 2021 ram rebel trx is all set to take on ford raptor

The 2021 Ram Rebel TRX is all set to take on the Ford F-150 Raptor in an off-road showdown of Jurassic proportions. So Jurassic in fact, that part of the truck's introduction at the official unveiling included a clip from Jurassic Park of an agitated T-Rex picking a Raptor up by the tail and flinging it away. Back in 2016, Ram released the Rebel TRK concept, promising an off-road version based on the Ram 1500 Rebel with a wider body and a powerful engine. Now, available for pre-order since August, the 2021 Rebel TRX is debuting with a body that's 8-inches wider than a stock Ram with a Hellcat V8 engine under the hood to deliver 702 horsepower, 650 lb-ft of torque, and an advanced four-wheel-drive system. The Rebel TRX has a top speed of 190 km/h and achieves a 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

The 6.2 L, Supercharged V8 HEMI Hellcat engine is complemented by an 8-speed, high-torque-capacity TorqueFlite 8HP95 transmission. Launch Control provides assistance with perfect straight-line launches to help back up Ram's claim that this is the "quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced truck in the world".

Obviously, any off-road vehicle worth its salt is sporting a heavy-duty suspension system. The Ram Rebel TRX is no exception, with a front independent suspension system, front and rear 2.5-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, a BorgWarner transfer case, Dana 60 Solid rear axle, and 13-inches of wheel travel range. The TRX's final drive ratio is 3.55:1 for a coral ration of 44:1. That isn't the lowest, meaning rock crawling won't be as easy, but it won't make much of a difference unless you're looking to go hardcore off-road crawling.

The 2021 TRX will only be offered in a crew cab body style and will have a max towing capacity of 3,674 kg and can haul up to 594 kg. Inside, you have the option of getting a racetrack feel with available perforated leather, Alcantara leather and carbon fibre trim in the performance-focused interior. It's equipped with a 900-watt Harman Kardon Premium Audio System with 19 speakers and unique materials that are exclusive to the Ram 1500 TRX, just in case listening to the roar of the engine gets old.

This powerful pickup sits on 35-inch off-road tired and sports the high-performance air induction system that filters four times as much water, dirt, and debris than the previous class leader while consuming up to 30,000 L of air per minute with the largest airbox in its class. The Ram Rebel TRX's menacing exterior is completed with the Adaptive Forward Lighting system to provide you with premium LED Smartbeam Intelligent Headlamps so ensure everyone sees you coming.

As we mentioned above, pre-orders for the 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX have been available since August so, if you're thinking of getting an off-road pickup that was, as Ram puts it, "inspired by the competition's nightmares", come visit us at Country Hills Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to get your name on the list. In the meantime, if you're curious to find out more about the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, feel free to reach out to us and we'll pass on the updates as we get them.
